This leaf comes from a Sycamore tree located along the high path above Rosemarkie Beach. It is one of my tree friends, and I say hello to her every time I walk the path. Although the Sycamore is not native to Scotland, it has successfully established itself in the Highlands, with saplings appearing everywhere. Mature trees, like my friend, can live for up to 400 years, offering good homes for birds and beasties.
